What regrets do you have?

I watched this awesome TED talk today with Jane McGonigal – “The game that gives you 10 extra years of life”. (When game designer Jane McGonigal found herself bedridden and suicidal following a severe concussion, she had a fascinating idea for how to get better.) It really inspired me but also made me stop and think.

What are my regrets?

In her talk, Jane points out the top 5 regrets of the dying when they are literally on their deathbeds (as reported by hospice workers).

1. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.

2. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

3. I wish I had let myself be happier.

4. I wish I had had the courage to express my true self.

5. I wish I had lived a life true to my dreams instead of what others expected of me.

I feel really blessed that I’ve overcome my fears and self doubt which has eliminated those top 5 regrets for me, but I realized I do still have a few of my own that I’ve been working on vanquishing altogether…

• I wish I had fully believed in myself earlier in my life.

• I wish I had been willing to ask for help sooner so I wasn’t wandering around in the “I have to do it all by myself” mindset for so long (i.e. needing perfection and control).

• I wish I had found a way more quickly to love myself unconditionally without needing to seek love and approval outside of myself.

I am happy to say that I’ve come along way towards eliminating them! The beautiful thing though is that each of these fears and doubts that have gotten in my way, slowed me down and just plain had me stuck in the mud, have led me to where I am today. Standing confidently in my power of who I am and what my purpose is.

What are some of your regrets?

What is stopping you Now, from erasing some of those regrets and starting to live your life more fully with greater joy, satisfaction and purpose?

I’ve learned that we all seem to go through some version of “dark night of the soul” at some point in our lives. Coming out the other side of mine, I’ve learned a lot about myself, found allies in places I wasn’t expecting and have found renewed energy for my work as a coach and how I can be of service to others!

What has become so clear to me is that my coaching is shifting in a new direction. A direction that honors my heart, mind and spirit:

Moving forward, my focus will be in working with women leaders who want more time off.

What I’ve found is most women leaders know what to do but need support in releasing their overwhelm & self doubt so they can move past their guilt and regret to actually enjoy their lives. To create a happy and successful career with more balance, health & well-being, which enables them to make the difference they’re called to make.

So while I don’t have it “perfect” yet (nor will any of us), I wanted to let you know about my new “Reclaim Your Life”Destined-Old-Woman-No-Regrets-2x3-Magnet-29152 90-day coaching program to help you reclaim your time, energy and purpose – helping you to unleash your authentic leadership and live a life without regrets.

If you’re interested in a Complimentary “Reclaim Your Time” Strategy Session or just want to learn more, then contact me via my website and we can schedule a time to talk via phone or skype.

Sadly, I recently lost a very dear friend unexpectedly. She was 45 years old. It was a shock to my system and our entire community of friends.

One thing that I’ve learned from Stasi’s death:

Life is short. Live it fully and Love with all your heart.

How do you want to be living your life?

I look forward to being of service to help you handcraft a life you love.

With love & gratitude,

Michele
